Graffiti has once again demonstrated its support for breast cancer awareness and education by sponsoring the branding and signage for breast health organisation PinkDrives first Cape Town satellite education centre. The very first PinkDrive education and information centre in Cape Town is conveniently situated in the heart of Athlone. The walk-in centre affords men and women of the community the opportunity to be educated on the ins and outs of breast cancer as well as on prostate and testicular cancer.

Comments PinkDrive Founder and CEO, Noeleen Kotschan, “We are incredibly thrilled to have a permanent base in Cape Town, but it was obviously imperative for us to be able to alert the community to our presence in the area. That’s where Graffiti once again came to our rescue by branding the windows and the entrance to our offices as well as by providing us with a bold PinkDrive logo inside the facility. People are now able to spot the branding and come inside.”

Graffiti has had a long-standing relationship with PinkDrive, having branded their mobile mammography units, their educational truck and their educational cars that transport breast health educators into the various communities in which they work around the country.

Graffiti Managing Director John Rice explains the reasoning behind their continued sponsorship, “PinkDrive is such a fantastic initiative – over the years they have made an incredible difference to the lives of thousands of women. Graffiti is simply good at branding and were grateful that, just by doing what we do every day, we are able to help these amazing people to assist so many others. Our commitment over the past few years has been just a very small part of a much greater endeavour and was proud to be associated with something so worthy.”

The branding at the new Cape Town centre has been so impactful that two taxi drivers driving by stopped to enquire whether they could have their back windows branded in an attempt to further educate the community! Explains Kotschan, “These gentlemen were so taken with the branding and with the work that we do that they wanted to play a small part too. It just shows how powerful branding can be!”

Since its inception three years ago, PinkDrive has conducted over 4,440 free mammograms, carried out over 41,360 clinical breast examinations and educated over 50,000 women on breast health to date. The organisation has cleared the backlog of mammography at both Groote Schuur and Tygerberg Hospitals in Cape Town and are currently also working at Chris Hani Baragwanath to assist in reducing a six-month mammography backlog.

Ends Kotschan, “We are so thankful for the amazing partnership that we have had with Graffiti since they branded our very first breast check vehicle in 2010. Graffiti has given us a presence wherever we go and, by helping people to identify our vehicles and our offices, they are playing an important role in our ability to actually reach those in need of our services.”
