1st for Women paints the town pink with branded mini cabs
In yet another trailblazing initiative, 1st for Women Insurance has recently taken to the streets of Johannesburg with five bright pink branded mini cabs. The branded vehicles form part of the “Cabs for Women” initiative - a metered cab service that is 100% owned, managed and driven by women.

Conceptualised by vehicle branding specialist, Graffiti, the five branded Mini Cabs are the first 1st for Women Insurance-branded vehicles to form part of the Cabs for Women taxi service. Enveloped entirely in the recognisable 1st for Women pink, each vehicle is emblazoned with the line “For Driven Women,” along with the new 1st for Women logo and contact details.
Robyn Farrell, Managing Director of 1st for Women Insurance, elaborates on the decision to go ahead with the branded vehicles, “We originally launched the ‘Cabs for Women' mobile campaign with branded taxi tops atop our vehicles. The success of this initial campaign and the eye-catching nature of the medium prompted us to go one step further and brand the entire vehicle. And the bold, pink mini cabs certainly won't go unnoticed on our roads!”
Graffiti Director, Natalie Cloete adds, “1st for Women Insurance was the very first of our clients to utilise our taxi top advertising medium when they initially launched ‘Cabs for Women' in 2008. It is therefore really rewarding for us to have them return to embark on yet another mobile media initiative, having decided to proceed with the fully-branded mini cabs.”
Whilst the newly-branded vehicles have only been on the road for a few short weeks, the niche insurance giant is thrilled to have already received positive feedback from customers who have spotted the vehicles on the roads or have utilised the service and are appreciative of such a forward-thinking, customer-focused initiative.
Concludes Farrell, “Cabs for Women' has been extremely well-received since its inception last year and the new branded mini cabs will definitely serve to generate further interest and awareness surrounding this unique service.”
